Secretary’s Report May15, 2008

President Normand Zarella called the meeting to order at 12:40 a.m. He then made the introduction of the Executive Board: Joy Mills (Vice President), Fred Connors (Treasurer), David Wilson (Secretary), himself (President) and in absentia, Corporate Counsel, Christopher Rich.

Motion was made and carried to suspend the roll call.

President Zarella requested a moment of silence for past member, William Connell Jr..

The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted by vote of the membership.

The Secretary’s report was accepted as mailed.

President Zarella recognized and introduced past President’s, Patricia Lambert, Bill Aker, Phil Converse and Bill Smith.

President Zarella recognized Dan Picard and Joy Mills for their efforts with last month’s seminar.

NEAMA’s web designer, Tom Mariano was introduced to the membership. The new web site was officially introduced to the membership.

Scholarships were awarded as follows:

Courtney Burgess received the Leo Herlihy Award

Courtney Ryder received the Vinnie Palmer Award

Kaitlyn Burgess received the Christopher Rich Award

President Zarella then read Chris Rich’s appreciation letter to the membership. He also apologized for not being able to attend due to a court commitment.

Jim Kelly introduced new member, Dan Hutchinson to the membership. Mr. Hutchinson was then presented with his NEAMA pin.

President Zarella reminded the membership that the Annual meeting was June 6 – 8 at the Margate Hotel. He also advised the membership that the next meeting would be September 18, 2008.

President Zarella informed the membership that the annual scholarship golf tournament would be at the Windham Country Club on August 21, 2008.

Motion was made to suspend the business portion of meeting.

President Zarella then presented Tom, the bartender as an honorary member.

Guest Speaker, Shirley Bhutto of St. Mary’s spoke to the membership about the topic of fraud.
