Zarella called the meeting to order at 9:40
a.m. He then made the introduction of the
Executive Board: Joy Mills (Vice President),
Fred Connors (Treasurer), David Wilson (Secretary),
himself (President) and Corporate Counsel,
Christopher Rich.
Motion was made and carried to suspend
the roll call.
President Zarella announced to the membership
that Corporate Council Chris Rich was resigning
from NEAMA.
The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted
by vote of the membership.
The Secretary’s report was accepted as
mailed.
Dan Picard was introduced as the MC for
the event. He advised the guests that the
trade show was broken down into three separate
rooms on a rotating basis.
Mr. Picard introduced the following guest
speakers:
Joe Barnes & Vinny Aiello of VLV Professionals,
Inc. discussed Effective Telephone Technique
and reviewed the Fair Debt Collections Act
Paul Bruce of Northeast Adjustment Bureau
discussed Intelligent Repossession
Bill Hoover of Auto Auction of New England
discussed Auction Procedures
Atty Michael Dixon of Law Offices of Michael
Dixon discussed Real Estate options for
foreclosure, modification, short sales and
deed in lieu
Atty Joseph Gruss of DiGiacomo, Gruss &
Campbell discussed the Bankruptcy Process,
including what debtors do and why
President Zarrella presented Atty Rich
with a plaque for his 22 years of service
to NEAMA. He also informed Atty Rich and
the guests that a new scholarship had been
named in honor of Atty Chris Rich, effective
with the May 2008 Scholarship Meeting.
President Zarrella introduced NEAMA’s new
Corporate Counsel, Larry Plavnick of Andrews
& Updegraph, P.C.
NEAMA would like to thank all the guests
who attended and vendors who participated
in making this year’s event a success.
NEAMA would also like to thank all those
vendors and members who contributed toward
the raffle prizes.
